I am honored to serve as President of the Muscle Shoals Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants for the 2019-20 year. This year will be an exciting year for the Muscle Shoals Chapter. We have put together four very interesting and timely topics for our members and guests as well as our UNA Accounting Awards Banquet. Mr. Wendell Gunn, an alumni and newest member of our UNA Board of Trustees, was our speaker in September. He did a great job and the Q&A after his talk was extremely interesting and informative.Dr. John Parnell, one of several new faculty members in the College of Business, is the speaker for our October meeting. As you can see from his biography, he is an accomplished individual and will speak with us about the importance of thinking strategically. Our November meeting will feature Mr. Matt Oglesby and Matt will speak to us about the constant changes taking place in the recruiting, developing and retention of employees. In January, Mr. Scott Hand, CPA with the firm of Anglin, Reichmann, Snellgrove, and Armstrong, PC in Huntsville, AL will be our featured speaker. He will provide us with an income tax update and changes in the tax law. The year will wrap up with our annual UNA Accounting Awards Banquet in April. The Board members and I would like to express our sincere appreciation to each of the sponsor firms listed in our program booklet. These firms have supported our chapter for many years and we would appreciate you considering using their products and services when a need arises. We look forward to seeing you at each of our meetings this coming year and appreciate your support as we continue to share knowledge, network and enjoy great fellowship.Dr. Dan Hallock, CMA, CPAPresidentIMA Muscle Shoals Chapter
